Palma Nova beaches

Palma Nova (Palmanova) is one of first purpose-built tourist spot in the Mallorca island. It is located at the southwest coast of the island, a short distance from Magaluf. Although it is in close proximity with the latter, Palma Nova tends to be more relaxed appealing more to families and older crowd. Aside from the sandy beaches at Son Matias and the small cove at Son Caliu.  One can also enjoy go karting, pony trekking, and bungee jumping.
Night life is centred on Magaluf and Palma Nova’s various bars, restaurants and Palma Nova hotels.

Palma Nova  main speciality is tapas, more  spanish that specifically Majorcan, tapas is traditionally eaten before the main meal and consists of a varied selection of appetisers. Some locals prefer to eat tapas as their main meal as it can be quite filling. Most Mallorquin cuisine tends to be given in hearty portions and tends to consist of bread and meat. Pork is the desired meat in Majorca and there is some local chorizo sausages names sobrasada said to be delicious and well worth a try.

With its stunning beaches, lively night-life, and from simple to luxurious hotels and resorts, Majorca is definitely one of the busiest, if not the busiest, resort destinations in the world. Majorca is proud of their tagline that if something is not in Majorca, it doesn’t exist at all. With everything astonishing and radiant, what else could you ask more from Majorca? Nothing else. …Just dream from one of Mallorca Hotels

Mallorca (Majorca) – Valldemosa – el Arenal – Ballermann

Mallorca, Ballermann, mallorca hotels

After “feel” the Mallorca hotels and after a day in the sun and at the Ballermann, people walk up and down the beach boulevard, grab something to eat and get ready for the night.

El Arenal has lots of clubs. One of those is the ‘Oberbayern’, which means ‘Upper Bavaria’. They play disco music and German folk songs everybody knows how to sing along. Beside hitting the packed dancefloor you can sit at one of the long tables on a bench – like in a beergarden. The Oberbayern usually has an entertainment program: Either famous German singers perform or they hold “beauty pageants” for tourists

Something really beautiful to visit no so far El Arenal, is The monastery of Valldemossa. In spite of tourism, Valldemossa has lost none of its charm. With its narrow streets and stone-clad houses surrounded by mountains covered in olive, orange, fig trees and the occasional palm, Valldemossa is a delightful, romantic hideaway.
This is still one of those corners of the Mediterranean that is not a disappointment to anyone who comes to see it. The tree lined valley facing towards the sea makes this a perfect place for meditation and is a tribute to European culture, history and art.
The small monastery with its bell-tower stands out from the houses that lie on the hillside and it tells us how, in the cold winter of 1838, George Sand, her small children and her young companion Frederick Chopin, came here. They left Paris in search of a healthy and remote part of Mallorca and found their winter refuge in Valldemossa where they left us with their eternal words and music.

Mallorca has an abundance of picturesque, sandy beaches. Beaches in the South West of Mallorca, have fine, thick sand, areas with rock surfaces.  Most beach areas are tourist resorts and so have a number of bars, restaurants and shops.  Many of the beaches also have sun beds, umbrellas and pedal boats, shower and first aid facilities.

Both Palma Nova and Magaluf have fine sandy beaches with everything on hand. There are a number of water sports and glass bottom boat trips to enjoy, as well as numerous shops, bars and restaurants which are all to be found along the wide traffic free promenades. Palma Nova also has a number of more traditional cafes and restaurants. Most of  Mallorca hotels  are along the seafront. The main beach at Palma Nova is quieter than the one in Magaluf, however this is mainly due to the fact there are less hotels in the area. Both beaches however are usually kept very tidy, and this is mainly due to the fact that drinking alcohol on the beach or taking glass bottle or any kind onto them is illegal.

Alcudia is known as the oldest city of the island of . The historic center is well-preserved and you can enter the district through two beautiful medieval town gates. Once inside the old city part you should take your time to walk around, take a look at the historic buildings, wander through the small shops and have a rest in one of the many cafes and restaurants. Beside the town gates there are also remains of the town wall that can be visited. The Romans were the first settlers in that area. But when they left, nobody else came to live there for centuries. Then in 903 Arabs built a new settlement and from that time on Alcudia was a permanent village or town. The name Alcudia comes from the Arab words “Al Kudia”, which means “the hill” and refers to the location of the old town.
